The City of Henderson and Nevada State University host an evening Día de los Muertos celebration at NSU's James E. & Beverly Rodgers Student Center. Families can walk among handmade ofrendas (altars) built by students and community members to honor ancestors and loved ones, watch traditional dance, and stay for a performance by the band Las Cafeteras. The event runs from 5 to 9 pm, so families with young children can come early for the ofrendas and dance and leave before the concert ends. Admission is free and everyone is welcome; a full schedule is linked from the city's event page.
