A gentle storytime for young children at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum that introduces the meaning of Día de los Muertos in an age-appropriate, welcoming way. Through a story and guided conversation, children learn how families and communities remember and honor loved ones who have died, and how the holiday celebrates love, memory and connection. Afterward each child makes a Día de los Muertos-themed craft to take home, which also works on fine motor skills and gives families a way to keep talking about the holiday at home. The session runs one hour on Sunday morning, November 1, and is designed for learners 6 years and younger with their grown-ups. It is included with museum admission or membership; craft supplies are limited and handed out first come, first served.
