Life Time's Las Vegas Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving-morning race in Summerlin with a 5K and a Family Fun Run Mile for parents running with young children. Both start at 7:30 am near the Las Vegas Ballpark (Aviators Stadium); the kids' mile sets off from the back corral behind the 5K runners, turns around before Town Center and heads back up Griffith Peak Drive. Every finisher gets a race bib, a Turkey Trot beanie and a medal, and entry includes the post-race party on the pool deck at Life Time Summerlin, where the 5K finishes. The organizers strongly suggest that parents run the mile with their kids, which also earns the adult a medal and entry to the after-party. Strollers are allowed but should start at the back. Dogs are discouraged and not allowed at the post-race event. Packet pickup runs on the Sunday and Wednesday before the race, and free parking is in the lots across from the ballpark off Orchard Park Drive. Registration is open; prices are shown only on the registration site.
