Columbia Memorial Space Center in Downey runs a three-day STEM camp over Thanksgiving break. Campers explore a mix of science topics through activities, experiments and challenges — the center lists making pumpkin slime, creating colorful cyanotype (sun) prints and whipping up their own butter among the projects. Days run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Wednesday of Thanksgiving week. Groups are split by grade: the 1st–2nd grade group is already full, while 3rd–4th grade still shows as available. The camp costs $150 for non-members and $135 for Space Center members for the three days.
