Morikami staff read Japanese folktales using kamishibai, a traditional paper-theater format in which illustrated boards slide through a small wooden stage, followed by a short related activity. On October 29 the story is 'The Goblin, the Water Imp, and the Thunder God', about a charcoal maker's clever son; on January 7 it is 'Hats for Jizos', a New Year's Eve tale of a poor couple rewarded for kindness. Readings start on the hour and are free with museum admission, good for preschool and early-elementary children.
