Learn to Skate group lessons at Oaks Center Ice start at age 3. Children 3 to 5 begin in Snowplow 1 and move through four Snowplow levels; skaters 6 and up start in Basic 1 and progress through Basic 6, and there is an adult beginner class too. Each class is a half-hour group lesson with rental skates included and a written progress report in week 5; there is no practice time included and no make-up classes. A properly fitting bike or hockey helmet with chin strap is mandatory for Snowplow 1–4 and Basic 1–2 (the rink has no rental helmets), and gloves are required. The Fall-2 session runs six weeks on Saturdays, Sundays or Mondays from October 31 to December 21; registration is open until October 28 or until full, and Snowplow 1 is already full. Pre-registration is required.
