Avondale's city Halloween night at Alamar Park is a trick-or-treat trail for families: city departments and community exhibitors staff themed booths where children fill their candy buckets. Between booths there is a carnival ride, a bounce house, face painting and balloon animals, roaming characters to pose with, crafts, entertainment and food trucks. Children and adults can enter the costume contest for first, second or third place, so come dressed up. The event runs for three hours on a Thursday evening, which suits toddlers through tweens who want an early, well-lit alternative to neighbourhood trick-or-treating. The city publishes an event map for 2026 on the event page; bring a bucket and cash or card for food trucks. No admission fee is printed on the page.
