Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center stages A Christmas Story, the play version of the 1983 holiday film based on humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s. Nine-year-old Ralphie Parker spends the season trying to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree, and the comedy is about childhood wonder and family at Christmas. Performances are in the center's BlackBox Theater on three December weekends, December 4–6, 11–13 and 18–20, 2026, with Friday and Saturday evening shows at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm, so families can pick a daytime performance on either weekend day. Tickets are sold online through the center's OvationTix box office; prices are not printed on the events page. The box office phone is (724) 576-4644.
