Harmony, the historic German town founded by the Harmonists north of Pittsburgh, holds its traditional German Christmas market, the Weihnachtsmarkt, on Saturday, November 14 (10 am–6 pm) and Sunday, November 15 (noon–4 pm). The market raises money for the Harmony Museum and fills the town with local and visiting artisans selling everything from candies and candles to homemade gifts and kitchen goods. Admission is $10, or $5 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and older, and includes horse-drawn carriage rides through town and live entertainment. The Alpen Schuhplattlers folk dancers perform on the tent stage at 12:30 and 4:30 pm Saturday and at noon and 3 pm Sunday, and the Teutonia Männerchor men's choir sings at 1 and 3 pm Saturday. Tickets can be bought ahead online. Parking is off-site, with free buses to the market from CVE School in Zelienople and from lots at Robinson Fans, Transtex and Sysco in Harmony (cars must leave the Sysco lot by 5 pm). Dirndls and lederhosen are welcome but not required.
