Friends of Tryon Creek staff and members invite the public on an early-evening full moon hike at Tryon Creek State Natural Area on Sunday, October 25, starting at 5:45 p.m. Depending on group size, the hike usually follows a 1.5-mile loop down to the creek and back, with stops along the way to share observations and learn about the forest's plants and wildlife, and it usually lasts about an hour. The organizers say the hike is not suitable for youth under the age of 13 or for dogs, so it is an outing for teens and adults rather than younger children. Registration is through the Friends of Tryon Creek online portal linked from the listing.
