The local educational nonprofit LEAF runs its last creative-reuse craft of the year at the Fremont Main Library: children make Christmas or other holiday cards from salvaged materials that would otherwise be thrown away, for family, friends or teachers they want to thank. The workshop is designed for children 6 and up; children under 8 need a parent or guardian with them to help. Seats are limited and free tickets are handed out at the Children's Information desk 15 minutes before the 4:00 PM start, so come early. The program runs until 6:00 PM. An ASL interpreter or closed captioning can be arranged with seven days' notice.
