Children ages 3 to 12 can celebrate the Festival of Lights at San Ramon's Dougherty Station Library with a hands-on art activity. Each participant paints and decorates their own Ganesha or diya (oil lamp) figurine while learning about what Ganesha and diyas symbolize in Diwali celebrations. The hour-long Saturday-morning session suits preschoolers with a grown-up helping as well as older kids who want to add detail. Supplies are provided.
