Privacy
Grassy Knees lists family activities from organizers’ own pages. You can browse everything without an account. This page describes what the site stores and which services are involved.
Weekend email
If you sign up, we store your email address, the metro area you picked, and the dates you signed up, confirmed or unsubscribed. We use them only to send the weekly email. Nothing is sent until you confirm through the link we email you. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Accounts
Signing in is optional. It’s handled by Supabase (email and password, Google or Apple sign-in). With an account, we store your saved activities, recently viewed activities, an optional profile, and any reviews, photos or videos you choose to post.
If you add a profile photo, your browser crops it to a small square before upload, which also removes location data stored in the file. The photo is public: it appears next to your reviews, with your display name. Without a photo we show your initials. You can change or remove it any time from your account; removing it deletes the stored file.
Without an account
Your chosen metro area and saved activities are kept in your browser’s local storage on your device. They don’t leave your device unless you sign in.
Usage counts
We count a few interface actions, such as opening a listing. Each count records the action, the metro area and where on the page it happened. We don’t attach your account, email or IP address to these counts.
Links to organizers
Links to organizers’ websites carry tags (utm_source=grassyknees) so the organizer can see the visit came from us. What happens on their site is covered by their own privacy policy.
Services we use
