Open data: family activities by U.S. metro area
Grassy Knees is a directory of real family events, places and programs for kids across major U.S. metro areas, where every listing is researched from the organizer’s own page and shows the date we last checked it. This table counts, for each metro area we cover, the listings that have not ended: dated events in the next 30 days and how many of them are free, classes and programs, places, the mix of activity types, the median ticket price of paid events, and how many towns have listings.

How it’s made
Every listing is researched from the organizer’s own page and re-checked on a daily research run; see about Grassy Knees. The table is computed from the live catalog each time it’s loaded, so the numbers change as events are added and end. Counts cover what we have listed, not every event in a metro.
