On Halloween afternoon, the Oakland Public Library's Piedmont Avenue Branch hosts The Not-So-Scary Halloween Show, a magic show full of silly Halloween fun that is appropriate for all ages. Children are encouraged to come in costume – ghosts, goblins, superheroes and fairies all welcome – for a 45-minute, laughter-filled show in which tricks reign over treats. It is a good warm-up before evening trick-or-treating on Piedmont Avenue.
