Family Foresters is a hands-on tree-planting morning for families at E.J. Nist Family Park in Normandy Park, run by the Friends of Normandy Park Foundation, the City of Normandy Park and its Parks Commission. Organizers provide the tools, trees, shrubs and supplies, and teach families how to plant trees and shrubs well. They also explain how planting helps the environment, air quality and the climate. Space is limited, so families should reserve a spot in advance. Parking at the park is limited, and overflow parking is at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 109 SW Normandy Rd., one block away. Questions go to info@friendsofnormandypark.org.
