A guided fungi hike for kids 10 and older through the old-growth forest of Point Defiance with Park Guide Jenn. Using a Super Mario theme, the walk covers mushroom identification, the science of fungi and the laws and ethics of harvesting. It is free but each child must be registered (siblings 10+ register separately; younger siblings cannot come), and one adult must accompany each registered child without registering. Expect up to three miles on uneven trails and dress for the weather, as it runs rain or shine. Meet at the Fort Nisqually Picnic Shelter.
