The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg hosts a free, family-friendly community celebration tied to its exhibition New African Masquerades. The Kuumba Dancers & Drummers perform and then lead an interactive dance and drumming workshop. St. Petersburg artist iBOMS (Jabari Reed-Diop) appears with his original masquerade, Tufani: Lion of the Florida Wilds. Families can make colorful wearable adornments, design rhythm shakers and try movement-inspired drawing led by the MFA Teen Arts Council, and little ones can visit a sensory play and kinetic art station run by Curious Creations Co. The celebration runs from noon to 2 pm; it is free but registration is required.
