The Smithsonian American Art Museum hosts a free family day on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 11:30 am to 3 pm, to explore its newly reopened collection galleries. Families can drop in at a still-life sketching studio, then complete an elements-of-art activity in the galleries; children 12 and under can also enjoy crafts and coloring pages in the Kogod Courtyard. Food and drink specials are sold at the Courtyard Café. Registration is encouraged but not required.
