City of Frederick Parks & Recreation's environmental education coordinator leads a pre-Halloween Arts & Nature Day on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 10 to 11 am at the William R. Talley Recreation Center. Participants learn about spooky creatures and odd plants such as the vampire bat and the corpse flower, then make artwork and crafts based on each creepy creature — handy homemade Halloween decorations. It suits children curious about the oddities of the natural world. Fee and age range were not shown in the calendar listing; check with Frederick Parks & Recreation when registering.
