Brentwood Arts Exchange's free family workshop on Saturday, November 21 has families designing mosaic coasters inspired by pattern, color and texture. The finished coasters are functional artwork for a Thanksgiving or holiday table, or a handmade gift for relatives. The workshop runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and is open to all ages, so parents and children can work side by side. It belongs to the arts center's family workshop series, which continues with Let's Get Ornamental on December 12. Sign up through the event page. Brentwood Arts Exchange is at 3901 Rhode Island Avenue in Brentwood (301-277-2863, brentwoodarts@pgparks.com).
