Junior Historians is Montgomery Parks' history program for children ages 5 to 8 at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood. The Holiday Traditions class on Monday, November 30, from 1 to 3 p.m., looks at how Americans celebrated the season through history, especially the families who called the Farm Park home: from frontier holidays with homemade decorations to 19th-century celebrations, what people ate, how they decorated and where favorite traditions began. Through stories, hands-on activities and old-fashioned holiday crafts, each child makes traditional crafts to take home. It is a drop-off program, although parents may stay during the class; dress for the weather and bring water. The fee is $15; register through the event page.
