Brookside Gardens in Wheaton holds BOOtanica, a botanical-themed Halloween afternoon for families, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 3 to 5 pm. Children come in costume and trick-or-treat at indoor activity stations, make arts-and-crafts projects including pumpkin decorating, and try hands-on science investigations about the fall season. Registration and the $20 fee are for the participating child; one parent or caregiver must stay with each child for the whole event but does not register, with a maximum of two adults per registered child. Listed for all ages, it is an indoor, gentle Halloween option for preschool and elementary children.
