Why do worms wiggle, and how do they survive the winter cold? At this hour-long Long Branch Nature Center program, children dig into those questions by exploring live red earthworms in compost, making wiggling paper worms, and mixing gooey slime worms to take home. It is a hands-on, slightly messy introduction to soil creatures and composting, well suited to preschool and early elementary children with a grown-up. The program is free but uses Arlington's registration system, so sign up ahead.
