On select Fridays each month, Riverbend Park's nature center in Great Falls opens a drop-in family play afternoon from noon to 5 pm. Families read books together, make crafts, play games, do puzzles and look at natural objects under a microscope, and children can dig and explore. It is listed for all ages, so toddlers and preschoolers are welcome alongside older siblings, and it is a low-key indoor option on cool autumn days. The November page lists a $5 fee with registration through Fairfax County Parks. Remaining dates in the window are October 30, November 13 and November 27, 2026.
