On Thanksgiving weekend, Winkler Botanical Preserve offers a free story-and-hike program about trees. A naturalist reads the picture book Be a Tree! and then takes families on a hike around the preserve to look closely at its trees, from bark to branches. The program is geared toward young families and lasts an hour. Meet at the Catherine Lodge porch at 2 p.m., and dress for the weather.
