The Washington Ballet's The Nutcracker, choreographed by Septime Webre to Tchaikovsky's score, plays the Warner Theatre from Saturday, November 28 through Sunday, December 27, 2026. This all-American version is set in 1882 Georgetown: on Christmas Eve in a Georgetown mansion, Clara receives a nutcracker from her mysterious godfather Drosselmeyer and later dreams of a battle and a journey to a cherry-blossom Springtime. For the nation's 250th anniversary, the 2026 staging recasts the battle between George Washington and King George III as the clash between the Nutcracker and a regal Rat King. The show runs about two hours. Evening performances are mostly at 7 p.m. (Sundays at 6 p.m.), with 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday matinees and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. shows on Christmas Eve. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster; the ballet's group-sales form lists per-seat prices from $49 to $180 before group discounts, depending on day and seat level.
