The Puppet Co. at Glen Echo Park stages its 38th annual puppet Nutcracker from November 27 to December 31, 2026. The production tells Tchaikovsky's familiar story of Clara and her prince with the company's own nursery-rhyme spin; it was originated by founders Allan Stevens, Christopher Piper and MayField Piper and uses music by the Arlington Symphony Orchestra, directed by Danny Pushkin. Recommended for ages 4 and up and running about 60 minutes, it is a shorter, child-sized alternative to a full ballet Nutcracker for families with preschool and early elementary children. Tickets were listed as 'coming soon' on October 16; check the box office for performance times.
