Givens Recreation Center in East Austin hosts a Halloween-night carnival for neighborhood families, with carnival games, prizes and 'spooky fun' from 5 to 7 p.m. The early-evening timing lets younger children enjoy a supervised, well-lit Halloween activity before or instead of door-to-door trick-or-treating. Come in costume. The listing gives no fee or registration details; it is organized by the recreation center, part of Austin Parks and Recreation.
