The Round Rock Diwali Festival marks its tenth year with an afternoon-into-evening celebration of the Festival of Lights on Centennial Plaza in downtown Round Rock. The city's listing describes street lights, Indian food vendors, live music and dance, Rangoli sand art, a Bollywood fashion show, kids' art and craft workshops and free Bollywood dance lessons, with more than 60 live performances across the day. Admission and parking are free, which makes it an easy outing for families with children of any age: younger kids can head to the craft workshops while older children and teens join a dance lesson. The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., so families can come for a couple of hours in daylight or stay for the lights after dark. Food is sold by vendors.
