Austin's big Thanksgiving-morning run, now in its 36th year, starts and finishes at the Long Center. Families with young children can do the Stepping Stone School Kids K at 8:15 a.m., before the adults' race, and visit the Kids K activity tent; older kids and parents can choose the untimed 5-mile (9:15 a.m.) or the 1-mile walk/run at 9:50 a.m., while the timed 5-mile starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration and packet pickup run 7–9 a.m. on race day, with packet pickup days beforehand. All proceeds go to Caritas of Austin. Free parking is listed at the Palmer Events Center garage and the State Garage N; neighborhoods south of the river are off limits for parking. A virtual option lets families run from anywhere. Entry fees are charged at registration (amounts not shown on the info page).
