Kids ages 6 to 10 take over the Nerf Battleground at the Vaughan Athletic Center in Aurora for an evening of organized foam-dart games and target shooting. The arena is set up with obstacles and barriers, so the play mixes running, hiding and teamwork with a bit of strategy. Fox Valley Park District staff supply the Nerf blasters, foam darts and eye protection, so children only need comfortable athletic clothes and a water bottle. The session runs from 5:15 to 7:30 pm on two dates in the window, October 21 and December 16, and each date is booked separately. The fee is $11 per child and registration is done online through the park district; it suits active kids who like games with rules and a lot of movement.
