Northbrook Sports Center turns its public skate into a costume party on Friday, October 30 from 7 to 9 pm. Everyone who skates in costume pays a $5 special admission; without a costume the standard public-skate price of $7 applies, and skate rental is $4. There is no pre-registration: pay at the front desk that evening. It is an easy Halloween outing for families with kids who can already skate a little or want to try with a grown-up alongside, and costumes that allow free movement on the ice work best.
