Downtown Wheaton hosts the annual Lions Charities Reindeer Run 5K on Saturday, December 5, presented by the Wheaton Park District and Lions Club Charities. Runners are encouraged to wear Santa hats, antlers and jingle bells, and participants may walk, jog or run, so families with older kids can take part at their own pace. The race is chip-timed, with overall and age-category winners. Every participant receives a long-sleeve shirt (sizes first come, first served), reindeer antlers and a finisher medal. Registration is through the park district; start time and fees are not shown on the event listing. Questions go to events@wheatonparks.org.
