Santa sets up in his cottage on the 1st Street Plaza in downtown St. Charles every Saturday and Sunday from November 28 through December 20, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. Visits are free and need no appointment; families wait in line, children share their wish lists, and parents can take their own photos. The cottage, new in 2025, has a walk-in room and a fireplace, and a mailbox on its side takes letters to Santa even when he is out. To keep the line moving, the St. Charles Business Alliance asks that each visit last three minutes or less. Friendly dogs are welcome to meet Santa too. Santa also appears at the Lighting of the Lights on Friday, November 27, and in the Electric Christmas Parade on November 28.
