The Electric Christmas Parade is the Saturday centerpiece of St. Charles Holiday Homecoming, the downtown celebration the St. Charles Business Alliance runs the weekend after Thanksgiving. On Saturday, November 28, 2026, illuminated floats, bands and Santa Claus himself step off at 5:30 p.m. from 6th Street and travel down Main Street to finish at 4th Avenue, so families can line the curb on either side of the Fox River. Earlier that day the Alliance shows a free screening of Elf at the historic Arcada Theatre (doors 9 a.m., movie 10 a.m.), and Santa's Cottage on the 1st Street Plaza opens for free visits from 1 to 4 p.m. The parade is planned rain or shine; weather cancellations are posted on the Alliance's social media (@stcalliance). Parking is free in city lots and garages, and dogs are welcome along the route. Dress warmly and arrive early for a spot with a view.
