Columbus Children's Theatre presents the regional premiere of Battle of the Books, a coming-of-age play about two rival team captains, Harper and Amelia, preparing for their school's book competition while their personal struggles spill into practice. Their books start to come to life just as a secret society bans the reading list and cancels the contest. Mixing comedy, drama, magical realism and movement, it deals with grief, poverty, stress, single-parent homes and book banning, so it suits tweens, teens and families with older children. Final weekend performances are October 16-18 in Studio Two at the Riffe Center.
