Healthy New Albany

A hands-on cooking class for students in grades 4 to 6 at the Philip Heit Center demo kitchen. Kids stretch their own pizza dough, practice basic chef knife skills with kid-safe knives and build a personal pizza from scratch. The twist: each chef must design an edible masterpiece using at least four different colors of fresh seasonal vegetables. Along the way, trivia and a topping bar explain how different colored foods help bodies and brains. The class runs 90 minutes after school.
