Delaware County District Library sponsors Read with the Horses, a monthly reading session at Stockhands Horses for Healing on Olentangy River Road. On the second Saturday of each month between 1 and 4 p.m., readers book a one-hour block and read aloud to the horses, who make a patient, judgment-free audience. It is meant for readers of all ages and abilities, especially children who are nervous about reading aloud. Bring any favorite book, magazine or graphic novel (some books are on site), dress for the weather because the barn feels like the outdoors, and wear closed-toed shoes. Only the reader registers, through Stockhands; release forms can be completed in advance. Registration for each month opens after the previous month's session ends.
