A family 'planet party' on the tarmac at Wings Over the Rockies' Exploration of Flight campus at Centennial Airport, timed for the best view of Uranus at opposition. The Denver Astronomical Society explains why dark night skies matter and sets up telescopes and astrophotography equipment for looking at stars and planets; the Planetary Science Institute is on hand to chat, and kids can join planet-themed crafts, activities and games. Expert talks take place in the classroom at 6 and 7 p.m. Bring folding chairs, warm blankets and your own telescope if you have one. A food truck (Wafflerita) sells food. Weather permitting; buy tickets in advance.
