Single-day winter-break camps at Denver Zoo for kids currently in kindergarten through grade 4, each built around a different theme: 'Too Cold to Hold' (Dec 21) looks at how animals survive the cold, 'Too Hot to Handle' (Dec 22) at warm-weather animals, 'Roaming the Rainforest' (Dec 28) and further themed days on Dec 29, Dec 30 and January 4. Days run 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with part of the time outdoors; no late care is offered. Campers bring a sack lunch, two snacks, a backpack, a water bottle and warm clothing. Registration opens October 27 for members and the public and closes four days before each camp day. Book each day separately; scholarships are available.
