Jingle on the Avenue is a free daytime holiday event for families on Washington Avenue in historic downtown Golden, part of the Olde Golden Holidays season. On Saturday, December 19, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, children can meet their favorite holiday characters, listen to holiday music, make crafts and visit Santa and his costumed reindeer. Santa and Mrs. Claus pose for photos with kids, so bring a camera or phone. The two-hour format suits preschoolers and early elementary children. Afterward, families can eat at downtown restaurants or browse the boutiques along the avenue; the City of Golden publishes parking and transportation information for downtown visits. Everything takes place outdoors on the street, so dress for December weather.
