The Children's Museum of Denver's December Teaching Kitchen workshop has young chefs making chocolate orange cookies. Children mix and shape their own cookie dough, and while it bakes they make chocolate sauce from scratch to drizzle over orange slices for a citrusy holiday treat. Each child receives ingredients for themselves and to share with one adult, and grown-ups are encouraged to help their little chef as needed. Sessions run 10:30 am to noon on Saturday, December 12, Sunday, December 13, Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20, and are designed for ages 4 and up. Adults and children must each have a ticket, there are no observers, and adults accompany children at all times. The price is $22 per member or $32 per non-member, which includes museum admission for the whole day, making it a good pre-holiday outing that combines baking with time in the exhibits. Guest passes and coupons cannot be used.
