In the Children's Museum of Denver's Teaching Kitchen, kids are the chefs and a grown-up is their helper. In this fall workshop, children mix and shape their own apple pie cookie dough and make a batch of apple pie filling together; while the cookies bake, they learn to cook caramel from scratch and drizzle it over apple slices. Each child gets ingredients for themselves and to share with one adult. The 90-minute workshop is designed for ages 4 and up and runs on Saturday, November 21, Sunday, November 22 and Saturday, November 28, each from 10:30 am to noon. Every adult and child needs their own ticket (no observers), and adults stay with their child the whole time. Workshops cost $22 per member or $32 per non-member and include museum admission for the rest of the day, so families can cook first and play afterwards. Guest passes and coupons are not valid for workshops.
