The City of Westminster holds a Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, at 10:00 am at the Armed Forces Tribute Garden, a contemplative memorial park on 104th Avenue just east of U.S. 36, between Christopher Fields and Big Dry Creek. The ceremony honors everyone who has served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines, with time to reflect on and celebrate their service. It is a meaningful outing for families with veterans, and for school-age children learning what the holiday is about. Before or after the ceremony, kids can walk the garden's granite pillars, central water feature and pathways of engraved brick pavers, where more than 1,600 service members are named; families can look for relatives or neighbors among them. Engraved bricks can also be ordered as lasting tributes. The ceremony is held outdoors in the garden, so dress for November weather.
