The Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce's Starlighting is the town's traditional kickoff to the holiday season, held every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving since 1962. The afternoon runs from 2 to 6 pm across Historic Wilcox Square and Festival Park in downtown Castle Rock. Families will find a kids zone with a petting zoo, face painting and games, strolling carolers and dance groups, nonprofit booths and food trucks. Santa and Mrs. Claus visit Festival Park from 2:00 to 4:15 pm. The ceremony starts at 5:00 pm on the main stage at 4th and Wilcox, the star on top of the Rock is lit at about 5:30 pm, and a fireworks show follows right away (weather permitting). Castle Rock Fire Station 151 hosts its long-running chili supper the same day. General admission is free; Chamber booths take cards only, no cash. Free shuttles run from 1:30 to 8:00 pm from AdventHealth Castle Rock, Douglas County High School and the Douglas County Fairgrounds, and several downtown streets close from 6 am to 8 pm, so plan to park and ride with small children.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Chamber page (updated 2026-10-19) gives date, hours and schedule; event map and full entertainment schedule 'Coming Soon'. Main stage location 4th & Wilcox used as the address. The page's schedule line still says '2025 Starlighting Ceremony' (template carry-over) but the header and WHEN line say Saturday, November 21, 2026.
