The Galveston Railroad Museum's new fall festival, CabooseFest, runs Saturday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families can ride hayrides aboard the Harborside Express caboose (every 40 minutes from 11 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., separate $10 ticket), visit a pumpkin patch, play games, browse market vendors and catch the classic film Ma and Pa Kettle on the outdoor jumbotron. A Hootenanny singalong jamboree runs from noon to 3 p.m., with a pie-baking contest and a chicken-wing eating contest in the afternoon. All museum exhibits are open, so children can also explore the historic rail cars. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 seniors, $10 for kids 12 and under and members, and free for military; parking is $5.
