On Saturday, November 21, 2026 from 1 to 3 p.m., the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center teaches how to make handmade botanical paper from recycled pulp, plant seeds, dried flower petals and other natural ingredients. Participants create one-of-a-kind sheets of art paper suited to holiday cards and gift tags, just in time for the season. The workshop is for ages 12 and up, with all minors accompanied by an adult, which makes it a good hands-on project for a tween or teen and a parent. It costs $37 for members and $52 for nonmembers per person, with online registration. Expect to get wet and messy, so wear old clothes.
