On Friday, October 30, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Barbara Bush Branch Library in Spring celebrates local first responders in its large parking lot before the library opens. Police, fire and EMS neighbors come in uniform with their vehicles, and children can ask about their jobs, see equipment up close and imagine their own future as community helpers. The morning doubles as a Trunk-or-Treat so kids can get a head start on Halloween candy; costumes welcome. The program is listed for young children and is run with the Early Learning Quality Network, making it a good fit for preschoolers and their caregivers.
