A drop-in history activity at the Stephen F. Austin State Park Nature Center in San Felipe. Writing messages has been part of human life for thousands of years, and oak gall ink was used in many of the nation's founding documents, from the Magna Carta to the Constitution. Visitors learn how people made their own ink and then use a feather quill to write a special note, their own 'declaration to nature'. Stop by any time from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. The activity is included with the daily entrance pass: adults $5, children 12 and under free, and Texas State Parks Pass holders free.
